In Psalm 100, King David gives a joyful invitation to all people to worship the Lord. The psalm calls the whole earth to serve God with gladness, to come before Him with singing, and to recognize Him as both Creator and Shepherd. Because we belong to Him and are cared for by Him, our natural response should be praise and gratitude.
Verse 4 focuses on how we approach God—with thanksgiving and praise. In the context of the temple, entering God’s “gates” and “courts” represents coming into His presence. David teaches that we should not come to God with complaints or entitlement, but with grateful hearts and worshipful attitudes.
This response is rooted in who God is. He is unchanging—always loving, patient, merciful, and faithful (Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17).
